Bringing the inside to the outside with a well designed outdoor room.
The client was faced with a cluttered and unusable deck area off the house and they wanted to turn this space into an outdoor room to entertain the family and friends. An important consideration was to link the inside of the house to the new outdoor room and create an 'open feeling'. The approach was to continue the existing timber flooring out and into the outdoor. The outdoor room created is then broken up into three entertaining spaces; one area for cooking, another for dining and the third for relaxing and sitting whilst watching the television positioned on the wall. And as the outdoor kitchen contains a BBQ, fridge, sink and storage it means the owner can devote more time with guests.
Adjacent to the outdoor room and a focal point to the rear garden is the swimming pool designed by our landscape architect. This was positioned so it could be viewed and accessed from the outdoor room so as the children swim they can be watched by the adults as they themselves have fun entertaining friends. The swimming pool design boasts a feature wall at the deep end with a sheer decent water feature. This feature wall not only finishes off the end of the pool but it also cleverly hides the pool filter equipment located behind.
